In terms of power drop down - what happens?

The powerMONITOR offers a power supply by an internal battery. If external source failures the integrated software activates automatically to the battery mode.

Does the opticalCON powerMONITOR offer output pins which can be linked to an external alarm unit?

Can I use my own external power supply for the opticalCON powerMONITOR?

As long as the power supply complies the required specifications (5 Vdc, 3 A) and the corresponding XLR-connector it will not affect the functionality of the powerMONITOR.

The powerMONITOR offers several different battery charge and power control settings. Which is the right one?

For rechargeable batteries set "ACCU Auto \ & ƒ"-mode (see User Manual: 9. Power Control Section). With this setup the powerMONITOR verifies the current battery status and starts with the charging procedure if required. The battery will be frequently discharged and recharged which extends battery lifetime.

In case of required instant charging adjust the powerMONITOR according section 8 "Battery Status / Instant Charging" in the user manual.
